Marximus 's MMA Handicapper Bio
|
Units equal confidence, NOT percentage of the bankroll. High amount of units are high confidence picks. I usually bet 10u for my most confident bets, 5units for medium confident bets and 3units for medium confident bets with high odds. What percentage of your bankroll you use for each is up to you. As a rule of thumb I recommend you to never bet more than 5% of your bankroll on single picks though. So if you like to bet % of your bankroll (I do flat stakes) just divide the units I put up by 2 and you should be fine --> 10u bets make 5% of the bankroll, 5u bets make 2.5%.
I mostly post Pinncale or 5dimes odds, as they're the most widely accessible bookies in MMA. You may often find better odds with other bookies, or worse odds if you're seeing my play to late. My two recommendations for you to always get the best odds possible are 1) always compare odds on https://www.bestfightodds.com/ for us and https://www.oddschecker.com/ufc-mma for eu bookies and have accounts with multiple bookies. And 2) turn on your email notifications for my bets, so you get at best the same odds as me, before odds start dropping (what they do more often than not after while).
So if you want to test YOUR particular odds in comparison to those I post, you can set up an Excel sheet and use this formula to test if the bet is still valuable at your odds: =((B1+1)/B2)*(B3-1)-(1-(B1+1)/B2). Simply fill cell B1 with my current ROI/100, B2 with my odds at the time and B3 with the odds you got, the formula will then give you the expected average ROI/100 at your particular odds. You don't want that value to become negative and may set yourself a ROI benchmark that you are still willing to bet.
Lastly, I just want to give you the advice to really bet cautiously. Not everyone showing a sweet ROI actually finds value. In fact, it takes much more than the 200-300 bets to say if a tipster is truly having an edge over the bookie or not. Luck plays an incredible role in betting and is always underestimated. I usually post my bets the evening right before the fights, since limits are highest at that point. Keep an eye on your notifications to catch my bets in time before the fights start!
