Take5withErik 's MMA Handicapper Bio

Hey! Welcome to Take5withErik.

I’m a longtime MMA fan and MMA bettor who used to spend 20+ hours per week handicapping fights and making content. That’s not something that fits into my life anymore, but I’ve been itching for a way to stay involved in the “scene” and maybe even make content again (in a way that doesn’t require me to treat it like a second job). So I came up with Take5withErik.

Here’s how it works:

For each UFC card, I will place and track the following bets:

1. ONE underdog (1u)
2. TWO totals (1u each)
3. A THREE-leg parlay (1u)
4. FOUR props (0.25u each)

And then we end it with a high-FIVE. A virtual high-five, I guess, although you’re welcome to hold your hand up and high-five yourself. (And if you don’t like the high-five idea, the four bets also total 5u, so you can just pretend that’s where the “five” comes from.

Anyway, this is just for fun. I don’t do my own tape study anymore, but now that I’m not doing that, I again have time to consume ridiculous amounts of content, so these bets will be based on secondary research that’s been filtered through my own noggin.

My plan is to potentially put these out as short YouTube videos as well, but that’s still in the works. I gotta teach myself how to make videos again first. It’s been a minute.
