Just a hardcore mma fan trying to learn how to make a consistent profit. Love to chat about fights and love the thrill of having a bet on the line during fight night. Nothing is better then having a great week and sticking it to the bookies. A warning to anyone starting to bet MMA fights that trying to profit from MMA is extremely difficult. I believe that this probably one of the hardest sports to profit on. Here are a few things I have learned from my own experience the last 2 years or so I have been doing this. Hopefully someone new to this can learn from my mistakes. Don't over bet fights. No matter how confident you feel never bet too many units anything can happen in there. Stick to your plays that you have planned to make during the week and don't bet other fights on the card because you simply want action. Don't double down lets say you made 3 plays and your 1st 2 plays lost don't double or triple down on your 3rd play. I did this and it worked the 1st couple of times when I 1st started then 1 week I lost all 3 and ended up flushing half of my bankroll. I believe most of us including myself have gambling problems. Here are some tips if you get the urge to splurge on fight night. Keep drinking to a minimum. If you are with friends tell them to remind you to stick with your plays and not to let you make another bet. Keep your phone away from you only watch the fights. Check your wins and losses after the event is over. If you still wind up making a bet on a fight that you did not plan keep it to a minimum if you bet $100 per unit then make it a $10 or under bet.
Strategy
I usually only bet plays from a few select cappers. These plays will not be posted by me. I decided to track my own plays to see if I can profit consistently as well. I hope to one day to be able to professionally cap my own bets. But for now I am stuck with a 9-5. Luckily I am aloud to listen to podcasts while working so 40 hours a week I get to listen mma fight breakdowns, fight interviews, etc and come up with a betting plan for fight night on the weekend. I also do film study a few times a week during weeknights . I believe to be a pro at this you need to research bets and odds full time. So my strategy is to pick out 1-3 fights per card that I feel I have the best chance to profit and simply research those the best that I can. I don't like parlaying too much but if the right opportunity presents itself I will make a stab at it.
